Drawing Sessions #2

The Royal Standard in collaboration with Drawing Paper and Liverpool Biennial presented a one-day experimental event exploring the relationship between sound, performance and drawing. The audience were invited to respond through drawing to a series of 12 hourly musical and sound based performances and interventions including:

Ian Bracken (cello), Damian Johnston (theramin), Volkov Commanders (reactive and responsive sound costumes), Octopus Collective (experimental strings), Naomi Kendrick (live drawing to sound), Sohrah Uduman (compositions using surveillance software), Mark Wingfield (jazz guitarist and composer), Chiz Turnross (electronic pop/soul), Deep Hedonia (interactive drawing ensemble).

Screenings of documentaries, films and work by Echo Morgan, Mark Hayward and Alice Gauthier, alongside a talk by Gavin Delahunty, Head of Exhibitions and Displays at Tate Liverpool were also presented.
